basser_jim
what kind of epoxy would you reccomend for attaching hardware/bills/belly weights, things like that?
fish devil
I use devcon 2 ton 30 min for just about everything.
Jason
I use Devcon 2 ton for the finish, but I use Devcon 5 minute epoxy for the hardware. Pre-drill a pilot whole smaller then the set screw or screw you are using to attach the hardware, then put some 5 min. epoxy on the screw before putting it in. I even take a very small pin and pit some in the whole if possible. There may be some that pushes out by the time the screw is in, just wipe it away. They hold solid after that! basser_jim
do you recommend Devcon brand? it can be found at wal-mart right?
Jason
Yup Devcon 2 ton epoxy is what I reccomend, but that's just me. That's all I'ved used. They are more options people can help you out with. You can find Devcon at Walmart for about $1.87 in the paint area. Can't beat the price, and ease of use. basser_jim
one more question.... after the bait is all put together, what do I need to coat the bait with before it hits paint?
Jason
I usually put my hardware on last, but that's just me. There are many options for sealing a lure before paint. Some people use primer, some people dissolve plastic pellets and dip their lures in it to form a seal. I'm sure more people will give you some ideas. It has alot to do with personal preference.
