dampeoples
I don't think Eagle Claw makes one, you can search on eBay for spinnerbait hook, you might find some cheaper one's
gtlegs
only ones I found on ebay were mustads and they were higher than jann's -Trey

dampeoples
Man, just checked Stamina for you, don't even bother, they're 3 times the price!! I think some guys here get the Spike-It and do it themselves, then bake the finish on, I've never tried it, although I do have some of the dip! gtlegs
What kind of spike it, is it a powder or something thinner? I wouldnt trust having powder on the point. -Trey
cadman
Spike-It Blade Dip. You can use any of the 8 colors. It looks better on bright nickle hooks.
gtlegs
thanks, ill have to try that
dtrs5kprs
I've used the red Mustad and some red gammies (trebles, jigs) and it seems like the red hooks are not as sharp as the nickle or black nickle finishes. The dip is called Blade Dip and it does work. I'm not sure about baking it...think it may be an alcohol base. It will come off after some use but is quick and cheap. I would go that route and leave the option of changing back to the original finish open as an on the lake choice.
cadman
Yes you must bake the Blade Dip, as it will stay on better. Eventually like everything else it will come off. But if you don't want to bake don't waste your time. Oh yeah.....300 degrees for about 10-15 minutes....Doesn't have to be exact.
icemanrrc
What kind of spike it, is it a powder or something thinner? I wouldnt trust having powder on the point.-Trey It's called quick coat lure coat. Spike It's version is simply called blade dip. Barlow's, Jann's Netcraft, and Stamina all carry it. You just dip the hook, spoon, blade, or whatever in it, let it dry and your done. They sell it in several colors, including red. Just like the red hooks you were thinking of buying, the red finish does and will wear off in time. The good thing about the dip is when the finish wears off, you can easily redip it and it's like new again. I would stay away from cheap hooks. I only use Gamakatsu in my molds including the Ultra Minnow. I dip all of my hooks red and most of my customers request it as well.
