Norcalbassin
Those look great, but how did you attach the blade directly to the hook eye like that. I've been thinking about making some myself, but I just can't figure that out. Thanks, Norcalbassin
clamboni
If you take a punch with a slow taper and a small tip you can open up the line tie. Then put the blade on and close the tie with pliers.
Pop
It's hard to see the heads. What head and hook are you using? I have been able to do the 1/8 oz. arky heads, which use light wire hooks, the way you say, but; when I try it with heavier hooks, they break. MDC
Just wanted to say that Craig (plop) sent me some of his blades and they are Grade A. Give them a try.
clamboni
I'm using Mustad 32786, 60 deg heavy wire. I had a couple break but then I changed punches. As long as I'm using a thin punch with a gradual taper, hit the punch lightly, and only open the eye as far as I need to, I haven't had a problem. Every one that I've broken was either with too broad a punch or hitting too hard.
HAWGHUNNA
Guys, the swing bladez are being made with a Hilts LMSB 38 Spinnerbait mold not a jig mold...there fore with the R-Bend wire form that is used to mold the 3/8 oz. spinnerbait, you snip, grab with completely round tip crafting pliers and bend into a tight circular eyelet. You actually get 2 swingblades from one wire form .... just bend a hook loop on the excess piece that was cut from the original and use to pour another head. P.S. I have 2 of these molds and I would be willing to trade one of them for a different mold, bulk of bladez, soft plastic pouring supplies. Send me a P.M. if you are interested.
