MarshManiaC
I am thinking about pouring my own plastic due to the fact that I am cheap and want to make mine as I think they should be made, eventually selling a few to feed the habit. I have reasearched a lot of sites...I am thinking of ordering some Lure Craft 502...do I NEED to add anything to it to make it harden or does the chem reaction from the heat cause it to gel? Any other helpful hints n stuff?
alsworms
Not sure how hard you want your baits, but the 502 formula is SUPER tough, making it really difficult to work with. You might try using the 536 formula; then if your plastic is too soft you can always add hardener. All plastisol is formulated to gel with heat. Hope this helps. MarshManiaC
Hey Thanks Chris....so fast, excellent! I need a tough plastic...I fish for redfish in the Louisiana marsh and they can really wreak havoc on some soft baits.... I am thinking I'll order the 502 and do some testing and put in some softener as needed.....hell, testing is gonna he half the fun!
alsworms
Sounds like the 502 might work for you then. It's designed mainly for saltwater fishing. Good Luck and Have Fun! Chris
