wannabefishing
Just wondering if anyone is using these to pour stix (senkos), how is it working out for you? Salt or Glitter give any problems?... thinking about grabbing one from Ozark if they aren't having any problems, mostly pour 2 part molds with salt... so i'm not sure if it's "right" for me. I assume most are using the drill press method for stirring, where are you getting your stirrers or are you making them? Thanks
Predator Bass Baits
I have one, but mine has the spout in the center bottom, I think ozarks is on the side, your really better off haveing one on the bottom, and building a stand to raise the pot so your pouring straight down, I can pour 100 worms a hr and that is with demolding and using 4 molds that have 4 pours each. I just hooked up a DC motor to stir mine and it still needs tweeking, I do not know if maybe it should have been a higher RPM gear motor yet or not. it is 58 RPM, or I might have to tweek on my stir paddle, so far I am father ahead with keeping the salt suspended, I need to take pictures of this thing again, my pot is hooked up with bells and whistles,
wannabefishing
Yes Jim, i wanna see you setup, pics would be great! The ozark one would need to have an adjustable front leg so it can be tilted, or it might just run fine, won't know until i try and they're going for $50+ on ebay... and i can't find them here in Canada, tho i would expect them to be well over $100... What are you using as a stir paddle Jim?
Angler310
I'm using pots that I put together with a fry daddy. I have found a small mixer at Home depot for about 6 bucks. It has a dual mixing paddle and does a super job keeping everything mixed. I mounted my spouts on the side as low as I could get them. Next time I'm gonna mount one in the center bottom. I think this will work better than the side. I also used a 1/4 inch ball valve that I found in that air compressor section. It's a little on the slow side when mixing with heavy salt. Other than that the valve works fine. Mike

wannabefishing
now that looks like a great setup Jim!! i've only got 2 questions for you 1) what type of stirring paddle are you using? 2) salt and large glitter passes through okay? I can't seem to find a pot with a center spout either? Angler- wish we could get the fry daddy's here in Canada, afaik we can't and i just can't take a chance importing them and then being flagged or even losing my import/export license
GatorTom
Nice setup. The only thing I would change (or add) is a longer handle on the spout so I wouldn't have to reach under the pot. My hands are bigger and it looks a little tight in there.
Predator Bass Baits
Wannabe, I made a paddle out of flat stock steel about 1" tall and almost as wide as the pot, Salt and glitter is not a problem. Gator, The longer the spout the harder to keep plastic from cooling in it. Mine does not cool so when I de-mold I go right back to pouring. This unit will be used now for two color pours as I am suppose to be getting my new pressure pot tomorrow. I got my pot off E-bay a year ago You can make one yourself you know. GatorTom
Sorry if I was misunderstood. I'm not talking about making the spout longer, but making the handle on the spout longer.
Predator Bass Baits
Sorry Gator, Yes that would work. Anyone looking for a motor make sure you get one that is 80 to 100 RPM It can be DC or AC as long as it is a gear motor, with a variable speed controller. I will post more info about the motor when I get a chance.
Predator Bass Baits
Sorry guy's use a DC motor, AC will not work correctly with a speed controller.
