bassman843
built my fluid bed tonight doesn't seeem to be working right.I took a 3" pvc coupling glued a flat cap at one end and put a coffe filter and a piece of 3" pvc on the other hooked up the air and it just doesn't seem to work right.the air pump is for 5-10 gallon tank .I used a screw value to hook up the air would that make a difference. dampeoples
Define 'not working right' Also - who's powder are you using? Does it have flake? Try removing some of the powder from the cup, I've found that some powders are lighter than others, white and black (from CSI) tend to be the most finicky for me personally, try a different color, see if you get the same results. bassman843
it just doesn't seem like the air is coming up through it like I've seen on other beds
dayooper
You may want to try a bigger air pump. The air pressure and volume may not be enough.
dampeoples
There you go man, Mr. fluid bed has spoken
reeves
I've had that happen on mine from time to time. Problem was the cup wasn't seated deep enough and some air was bleeding around it rather than through it. Try pushing the cup in a little deeper, it may help. tankar
do you poke holes in the paper bag if so what size and how many
kelly
No holes. if you take the bag and put it on your lips you can blow threw it. And it is the lunch sack 2"x4" and 8" tall. I also use alot less air than i did with the coffee filter.

akriverrat
hate to sound like a skipping cd but im telling you guys an allergy pillow case is working great for me. i dont get any powder in my air chamber and the fabric lets the air through just fine. im using an aqua culture 20 to 60 gallon aquarium pump and had to throttle the air back on my two inch by six inch cup. this pump has two air outlets so if needed i could hook up two brass fittings one on each side of pvc coupler and run a pretty big fluid bed. i bought one 240 thread count pillow case for (5.99?) and have only used a six inch circle of it so far. you can make alot of fluid beds out of one pillow case. i have used my fluid bed probably 100 times so far and havent had a problem. just trying to help. john

LedHed
Drich Yes, but would recommend using an in-line air drier.

davycrockett
Speaking of materials for the membrane, has anyone used a vaccum cleaner bag? Not the whole bag of course but a piece big enough to seal the bottom of the cup.
