zx202guy
come on guys/gals, i saw jigs that advertised flourocarbon weedguards. somebody here has to know where to get them?
ol_grayfeather
A friend of mine bought some jigs the other day with fluorocarbon weed guards. We were wondering the same thing. I couldn't find anything and the only thing I can think of is short strands of 40# test. It makes for pretty spendy weed guards that way. donkjc2
As far as i know, no one sell them. You could make your own with the 40 lb test as mentioned before. Just cut some short lengths and touch the end's to the side of a Lee's melting pot to secure them.

WidowMaker
Would the #40 lb test fluorocarbon be stiff enough to be user as a weed guard material???
dampeoples
I think in th short, inch or so lenghts, it would be, could also make two different grades of weedguard as well, stiff or soft
ol_grayfeather
I figured 40# from the diameter compared to the diameter of the regular weed guards... from the Barlows catolog.... FG30 1/8" dai. - 20 fibers of .024 dia. 1.75" long For the stiff weedguards. According to the line chart I used the .024 is 40# test. But the more I think of it... that weedguard material is probably stiffer than the fluoro..... guess I'll have to have my friend measure and count the fibers for me. gat0r
IT's the Evolution Jig. It's at http://www.evolutionlures.com/ and it won best of show last year for hardbaits at ICAST. However I think they are like $10 for a 2 pack.
