Hoosierdaddy
Hey guys, I have a few sheets of lexan that the protective film fell off of. I always marked out my lip patterns for cutting on the protective film but it will not stay in place. Anyone got a solution for this... What type of glue could I use that will wash off easily? BobP
How about some masking tape? You can buy it in wide sizes. On the small bass baits I make, I often remove the white paper before marking so I can cut the lip more accurately. I sand down to an exact line with a Dremel and the white film has a tendency to fold over and obscure the line rather than being sanded off. Vodkaman
I spray glue computer printouts of my lip shapes onto the lip material. After drying on a radiator for an hour, this is usually stable enough to take the rigors of shaping. After peeling, the glue residue wipes off with alcohol. fatfingers
I use rubber cement to place the lip templates on the Lexan. It holds up well, peels off easily, and you can remove any excess without solvents by just rubbing it lightly with your thumb or fingers. rofish
Why don't you just use a CD marker and a stencil? After the lip is finished, the remaining marks of the CD marker can be easily removed with alcohol.

Tally
just be careful what you use to clean the lexan with....some cleaners / solvents will fog the lexan. The masking tape (blue painters type) sounded like a very good solution
