dsmblack
I just purchased 5 gallons of MF Super Soft. I currently use LC. I normally add quite a bit of softner to my plastic to get the softness I like. (4 oz. Plastic, 4 caps softner). Does anyone have an idea as to how much softner I should add to the MF to get the same feel. Is there much differance in the different plastics? The Dutchman
I just recently purchased MF super Soft 5 gal. I used to use LC and some Ozark. LC was OK but I had to use a lot of softener and mix very well. Ozark was not good for me. MF Super Soft I do not use softener with my baits even the salted one and they are super soft. I would try a cup to see what you get. I love it and barring A change in MF plastic I will keep using it. No bubbles and heats well. Again, I love it and I don't use softener. jmik26
Robert sent us a sample pint last week of the super soft formula, super nice guy. Anyway, you should try a little first. You will probably find out that you will not need any softner. I found it to be alot softer then the LC we use now.
dsmblack
I just poured my normal 4 oz with no softner. It came out as soft as the same 4oz plastic/4caps softner. That should save me some money on softner as well as time adding it. I think I am going to like it.
azbass
I have been pouring MF Supersoft for about 5 years now. Wouldn't think of using any other. It's always consistent, needs little or no mixing, and takes all of my scents and salt extremely well. Good Stuff !!
SwampBaits
I agree, it's great plastic!
harley-cowboy
You do not need to add anything to M-F Super soft. They formulated it for use without softner. The only reason to add softner..WELL, I can't think of any! I buy 2 - 55 gallon drums at a time and I do not stock any softner or use it. ALL my customers agree that my baits are the softest around ..even with heavy salt. Just try it W/O softner.... you'll agree that you won't need to add extra. HAWGHUNNA
What about frog baits? Would I need to add hardner...I'm a newbe and haven't ordered any plastic as of yet,but I'm really leaning towards M.F. Super Soft 5 Gal. for starter jug:yes: . Richard Prager
The M-F "regular" works best for frogs.

HAWGHUNNA
I was like a kid in a cany store yesterday when the used mold that I got came in. I got an old coffee cup, broke out the old micro, cut up some used sour grape flukes and a few green pumpkin swamp crawlers and poured up a half dozen of SUPER-D-DUPER SOFT sour pumpkin Turbo Toadz (Del's version of tha horney toad). Having to pour the legs with the mold apart was tricky:eek: ,especially with a coffee cup:whistle: But on the third attemp shazzam. The legs seem a little thin on these frogs...will the M.F Regular make them seem more feizable? By the way...this is one sweet web site...it' almost as addictive as makin' baits. Thanks for all the info that I've recieved here, and as I try to learn a few tricks of the trade...I'll definatly pass them on.
TTDuckman
I am by no means an expert and don't pretend to be. I wouldn't advise using a coffee cup to pour plastic. The temperatures that this plastic reaches (340-350), far surpasses the average cup of coffee at say 180 degrees. It may never be a problem for you, but a pyrex container is made to withstand extremely high heat. MF Supersoft is awesome stuff and I need to get a 5 gallon jug soon. HAWGHUNNA
I know that was really stupid of me:eek: ,luckily I got away with it and were not thinking of trying it again...just had to give er a shot. Thanks for the reminder though.
