fatfingers Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 Not only does the epoxy hold them on nicely, you can actually build the epoxy up against the sides of the eyes a little bit to give the bait a nice molded look around the eyes. doomdart Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 Yeah, on more rounded bodies sometimes the eyes don't want to stay put. After pressing them on, they will sometimes let loose and pull back on one edge. If it's not just hangin' off too far, try what fatfingers said. Let some epoxy flow over the eye and back behind where it is slightly peeling up. Then "build" the epoxy around the eye. Sometimes the peelers are the ones that look best after Devcon, for the reason fatfingers mentioned. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BobP Posted March 10, 2007 Report Share Posted March 10, 2007 For me, it isn't just "sometimes" that the stick on eyes begin to pull off the surface of and curved surface. It almost always happens and usually after you put on the clearcoat. Especially if there's any solvent in the clearcoat. I use a Dremel high speed cutter to make eye sockets for 3D eyes.
