I have read all the posts about making senko molds and buying senko molds from lurecraft. And for now, I think the best thing for me to do would be to buy a premade mold. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the part # from Lurecraft's catalog for the senko look alikes? I think that they are item 5X670 and 6X660 but can not tell 100% from the picture. I sent them an e-mail a week or so ago and have not had a response so I was hoping someone here would know. alsworms Posted September 25, 2003 Report Share Posted September 25, 2003 Yep - you hit the nail on the head. Those are their version of the senko molds. They also carry 6 and 7 inch senko molds that aren't listed in the catalog. If interested in those, just ask Dave at Lure Craft and he'll steer you in the right direction. I have never even poured plastic so I can't see cutting my teeth on a high dollar mold... I do plan on buying some of the plastic he sells. But for now, I think I'm going to stick with the LC mold. Most people use them for pouring lead, but I would think they could handle plastic without a problem. Here is the information if anyone is interested. Senkosam Posted September 26, 2003 Report Share Posted September 26, 2003 Cobra's source sounds economical and detailed except - do they make two-part molds for the same price? Once you've made a completely round bait, you won't want to use Lurecraft one-part molds. Plaster is sooo easy and cheap to use that a bucket from Wal Mart at $5/ 5 lbs. will make you 15 molds that last and last. Go to tacklemaking.com to find out detailed instructions on how to make one or two part molds very easily. Water, cheap aluminum pans (3 or 4/$1), a popsicle stick to stir and some Mod Podge craft glue to coat the surface and you're set to go! **note: Lurecraft Senko molds produce sticks that are slimmer than the original and you have to overpour slightly or one side will have a concave surface.
