Clay Master Query

Recommended Posts

When making your clay masters how do you fellows form those perfect circle grooves on your grubs. I've found that if I role up little balls of clay and squash them down on each other it gets close to a mass produced look but I was curious what you ladies/gents use or how you do it to get perfect caly masters.

Heres a tip,

Roll your worm out to the shape you want, then use a straight tool to roll the bait, try all sorts of items to get something like whats pictured below.

also keep an eye out for beads that would make good worm segments & string em up, they make a quick & easy worm (tail sold separately) :D

Red I went out and purchased a couple of bags of "mixed" wooden beads from my local craft shop. The beads are easily one of the best ways to create a great base for your clay masters, thanks so very much. I actually took very wet modelling clay and worked it into the gaps, perfect grub shapes that are easily repeatable for making multi pour molds. I'll put some pictures up later . If I want to put up a two part plaster mold making tutorial how do I go about it.

Thanks hide,

glad it worked out for you.

a nice coat of clear epoxy will fill in thse bead gaps too & give ya anice glossy grub to work with.

Hold on to that tutorial for a few more days, were automating the tutorials section so you may write it here online.

I'll post instructions as soon as she's finished.

Thanks again
