I am wanting a 2 color bait

Recommended Posts

I have been making some slab knockers for my crappie fishing neighbor. I would like to get 2 colors but have been unsuccessful so far. I have tried putting them together over a flame like I do on bass baits but it hasn't worked well. I have also tried several different types of glue.

Anyone have any suggestions?DSC01767.jpg

I assume that you are using those hand injectors we warn folks about. Cutting in half and re-inserting should work. You have to make sure that the second color is very hot so it will bond with the frst color. And that is where the danger of getting burned is.

What I would do is make a 2 part POP mold and pour them that way. Safer and easier.

I am not sure what you mean by the hand injectors. This is a start to finish project which I have done and have 24 different injection cavaties with a lot of time invested.

I have already tried cutting them and putting them back in the cavaties. It didn't work.

I'd go with the plaster mold too. I was just thinking make oneside without a pour hole so you could pour one side with it open and have a perfectly flat side then close the mold and pour the top half a different color.

I think it would work.

Jigman, is that just a back of a finesse worm?

Jig man those look alot like a bait that is sold around truman lake, mo. What they do is pour the tail color as the one color, then heat a pyrex cup of the main body color to dip it in to get 2 colored baits. It seems to work pretty good for him. They dont seem to peel off very easy. If you are selling them please send me a email, I would like to buy just the single color and dip the rest for myself. tae73@aol.com include some prices and sizes.

Thanks

Ted

I tried that method and didn't like the results. I have no plans for selling these things at this time. They are way too hard to do to sell them at a reasonable price.
