Sightfishing
Should I use a fluid bed for 200-300 jigs a year, or will I get better results with just dipping by hand?
LedHed
For single colors you will get better results with a fluid bed. Depends on the size of the jig also. With smaller jigs you don't run into the problems you do with the larger jigs. If you are not interested in making your own - check out TJ's tackle. JIGNPIG
Fluid bed all the way! That's about all I make a year. Its makes it so much easier to paint. They come out just like you bought them in the store. Just a little more work though.
buckdawg
I am completely new to this hobby and after giving up, initially, on making my own fluid bed I went to dipping directly in the cup. It didn't take me too long to realize I need to try a little harder on getting the bed to work!!! If I can't get it to work I will be buying one. Dungeonhawk
i just know its a pain in the arse getting them working right, in some instances. my white and chartruese work great, my darks, SUCK haha
JIGNPIG
I wouldn't give up on it. Order a fluid bed from Dayooper(tjstackle.com) that's where I bought mine and haven't had a problem with it yet. I'm about to order some extra cups tomorrow. It just seems to me that all the money spent messing around trying to make one, it would be cheaper just to buy one. Good Luck!
Sightfishing
Thank's for the help guys! It seems as though I will need to invest in a fluid bed as it sounds like you just end up buying one anyways. Besides I don't think i'II stop fishing till I'm 6 feet under. You guys rock.
