kyknapper
Maybe this should be in another forum, but I'd like to get information on creating the mold to pour the plastic bodies like on a Hal-fly jig (also Jiffy Jigs). [i'm going to cross-post to Plastic & Hybrid and hope that is okay with moderators] tnx.

kyknapper
Sorry, I should have included a photo of the type. Here are links to the same type jig made by 3 different companies: http://hal-fly.com/productcart/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=4 http://www.wooleyboogerjigs.com/index.html http://www.jiffyjigs.com/jigs.php This lure was invented by Hal Barber of Georgia some years ago and is/has been very popular throughout the south for crappie. The plastic body is poured after marabou is tied onto a leadhead jig - completely enveloping the tied area and hook shank between the leadhead and where the marabou starts. Being poured on, it obviously won't slide down the hook shank with use. Thanks for the reply!
nova
The simplest way to do it would be to take a block of plaster and drill 1/4" diameter holes to form the body. Seal it and pour the bodies. Tie on the tail material and glue it to the shank of the hook; then slide the body onto the hook after the glue dries.. Next fish out the tail material with a crochet hook or someting similar. Then superglu the body at both ends to the hook. Other than that you would have to figure out just how these are really done. Ive got a feeling that they are injected by machine. Hope this helps. www.novalures.com
BigTimeBuzzer
All of mine were custom made from bar stock aluminum. They are not the easiest things in the world to come by. I had to go all the way to Alabama to get my first ones. I hope this helps....The PopeyeMaker/Chet-Fly
MDC
Check with alsworms. I think he was playing with something similar to this. You could probly make a POP mold and pour the plastic with the maribou already in the mold then s-glue the bodies to the jig heads.
