spare tire
Hi, This is a smallmouth crankbait I made. Unlike the largemouth on an earlier post, I left off the dorsal fin, and tried to get a little more detail on the head area. Please let me know if there is something I can improve on. I dont care to much for the red on the gill area, it was carved out , mabey should of left it alone. thanks Tim http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w311/sparetire2/small.jpg http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w311/sparetire2/101_0336.jpg
StoneCoal Tackle
Good looking baits Spare, I like them both. As for me I like red gills on everything! But that's just me. Carve on, daymon
doomdart
spare, I think they look great too. Personally I prefer the lip cut to be a little deeper just for added insurance, but that's just me. I think if you're epoxying in the lip, scuffing the unexposed lip surface first, it will be fine. They really look excellent, man.
Yake Bait
Great looking baits. I like the spots on the belly of the smallmouth.
BobP
I also like the shape and paint on the smallmouth. As far as gills, I'm among those who usually like them - just a touch to show a baitfish in trouble. If you cut out a template for them, they'll come out very neat and you can use them multiple times.

I do scuff up the lip surface and drill a couple of holes for the epoxy to go . thanks again everyone.
