tarakito
Good evening everybody, just poured these new shads but the tail doesn`t show any action... What do you think - is it not wide enough (because of the very wide body)? Thank you very much! Tight lines, Ian.
nova
Yup. The paddle of the tail is too small. The wide body is deflecting the flow of the water away from it. Once you enlarge the paddle I think you'll see a big differance. Let us know how you make out. Nice looking bait. www.novalures.com
tarakito
Cheers Nova! So you think making the tail wider would do it? Regards, Ian.

Neet bait though

Senkosam
I've poured this kind of tail before and it's not always the larger body. Suggestions: 1. use very soft plastic and/or 2. make sure the plastic connection from body to tail is thin (ie a Slider grub tail which looks like a T) and/ or is longer. tarakito
Sam, thanks a lot. I`ve allready tried to make the tail thinner which didn`t cure the problem. I don`t have the possibility to use softer pastic unfortunately. Maybe i`ll give it a try and make it longer but i don`t want to make it too long because it hooksetting abbitlities will be worse than. Best regards, Ian. nova
Ian; I still say you're not getting enough water flow around the tail. www.novalures.com
Tubeman
Nova, is right, you need to have that tail at least as deep as the belly or more and about 1/3 wider than the widest section of the body...then she's gonna dirty dance
smirkplug
wider and deeper will help, also try cutting or biting off the sharp corner at the top of the tail, we do this on worm kings, AA's and such !!!
