Canoeingman
Hello i am new here. My dad told me about this site and said that it was a good source of info. I am wondering if there is anything that I could do to make my Citica Bantam 200 better. I saw that there was one other thread about a Citica but i was unshure if this was the same reel. If anyone could tell me if I could soop up this reel it would be greatly aprieciated.
ssrmr2
Hello i am new here. My dad told me about this site and said that it was a good source of info. I am wondering if there is anything that I could do to make my Citica Bantam 200 better. I saw that there was one other thread about a Citica but i was unshure if this was the same reel. If anyone could tell me if I could soop up this reel it would be greatly aprieciated. there are a couple things that will make the citica close to a curado 200b. bearings: you can replace the 2 side bearings with high performance ones. I think they are 4 x 10 x 4 mm (id x od x thick) i used ceramics. cost is high but casts great. change the spool bushing to a bearing. using pliers push the pin out and then pull it out the rest of the way. glently though. replace plastic bushing with a 5 x 11 x 3 mm ss bearing. boca bearings also you the gears are a direct swap from the curado. this will make the reel 6:1 instead of the 5:1. change the OEM drag washer to a carbontex washer. add a light coat of shimano grease to the washer before installing. makes it very smooth and will last forever. I have used this method on many large saltwater reels for tuna. hope that helps steve
