HAWGHUNNA
After using colorants,is it necessary to remove the pouring spout and reapply the original cap or will the colorant be just fine by snapping the lil' red tip over the spour? What about evaporation of the colorant due to my shop getting very hot during summer months. Cleaning each container and reapplying the flat cap is timely and you loss lots of colorant via cleaning spouts ant bottle tops after each use. Thank for any advise. nova
I assume you are using LC's colors. Just take the red cap off, poke a hole into the spout at the top so that the color can get out(do not cut the top with a knife) and then you can put the red cap back on after you get the required number of drops out. You do this for each and every bottle of color you have. Do not move the red cap from one color bottle to another. When you are applying the color to the plastic only un-cap one bottle at a time, that way there will be no mixup. www.novalures.com
HAWGHUNNA
Thanks Nova....actually I'm using Del Mart colors,I purchased a used supply that was on the trading post section a couple of weeks ago...and they were shipped with flat caps without spouts, but the same number of spouts were in the pacage...was just wandering if the colorant would dry out easily without fully sealed caps. Again...Thanks.
nova
I have some colors that I use very little of and some of those bottles are over 5 years old. I have no problem with drying out. just make sure the caps are on tight. www.novalures.com
HAWGHUNNA
When I get ready to order more colorants...should I just stick with Del Mart since I already have some recipes worked out into the colors that I prefer,or could my Del Mart color recipes be duplicated easily enough using colorants that M.F and L.C offer? nova
I use mainly LC colors. I have a few MF; but I don't have any of Del's yet. When I started all there was; that I knew of; was LC. I haven't tried to combine the colors yet but I'm sure that it will produce interesting combos. The main think is to keep "complete" notes when you make a recipie. www.novalures.com

Colors from different companies vary......BIG TIME! Before you begin working on the same recipe with a different brand, use a very small (and exact) amount of plastic so as not to waste a bunch. Once the recipe is solid, write it down! I have come up with some pretty decent colors in the past, only to forget just about everything! HAWGHUNNA
Thanks guys...I think that Del Mart will get my buisness when ordering more of the colors that I already have in stock and have solid recipes from. May venture out and experiment with the others when ordering some colorant types that are not yet inventoried. Thanks guys...ya'll tha bomb.
