Trojanfisherman
I've been looking all over for Molded 3D eyes to put on a bunch of my lures. The problem is that I need 6mm, 7mm, and 11mm. All I can seem to locate is sizes in Inches. Does anyone know where I can find any online? I need just the basic silver color. THANKS SO MUCH JERRY
dampeoples
1/4" = 6.35mm, that's right in the middle of yout 6 and 7, is that not close enough? 7/16 is the closest to 11mm. I think I've seen some eyes sold on eBay in mm, might check there

Vodkaman
Inches was something that was introduced when we traded goats! When is the USA going to join the new millennium and go metric. Gerry the moderator told me that, due to the global membership spread, TU was going metric in two months time. Any references to inches after a suitable changeover period will be displaid as a swear word (xxxx)!
nova
Lurecraft is the cheapest I've found for 3D eyes. I tried to make my own but the finish will dull down as you handle them. www.novalures.com
Lenox2k
I personaly like the inch neasurement, sure will make a lot of changes in all carpenter tools, and raise hell with all the milling machines in model shops that are set in 1/100s. Then again i'm in my late 60tys and it will be strange to me.
nova
When it happened here I was in my 30's and I read blueprints and wrote house construction contracts. Almost made me crazy. Thanks God for conversion calculators. lol Once you get a handle on it, it's very easy. Everything is in 10's. www.novalures.com
charkins
Vodkaman, I think you been drinkin too much of it. Everyone knows that the English system is better than the metric system. Just kiddin. We use the metric system primarily in pharmacy. It is much easier to make calculations.
rofish
Vodkaman, I feel so much relief after readind your post! For me, trying to think in inches, pounds, miles, etc. is like having to drive my car on the left side of the road, using my left hand to change gears, or like retrieving a lure with my right hand on the fishing wheel ! Vodkaman
As a CAD engineering designer, I have to work in both units. Most aircraft design is imperial, also the US car industry. The rest of the world seems to be metric. As Lenox2k explained, imagine the cost and chaos the change over would be for the US. I don't think it will ever happen. Still, it makes me grin!
