One Sock
I play around a lot with different colors different techniques as I am sure most of you do at one point or another. If your willing to share a few tips I would appreciate anything on multi pours etc etc. One of the things i do is to preheat clear plastic(no salt) with a touch of orange flake, then reheat it until I get a real subtle orange bleed. I use in in fluke belly's and on some of the frog heads. I'm more interested in using highlight powder but have no experience using it. Any ideas? applications?. sorry if I am asking a bunch of questions but I figured I would take a shot. what about plastic paints? eyes? nova
There are only two limitations to experimentation. Money and imagination. I never stop thinking of different color combos or ways to pour. As for the money; well that's a different story; lol. Highlites are neat; I never get tired of them. www.novalures.com
Gloomisman
I agree with nova. I was actually getting ready to make a similiar post. I only pour for me and a few buds. So I just tinker around and make goofy stuff. If it turns out crappy I fish it in a farm pond where it doesnt matter what it looks like. I also only make a few of them. I've used more plastic on this then anything else. I've also invented some crazy stuff and a few awsome colors I've never seen before. Bad thing is I wasnt keeping notes. So matching it is going to be hard. Now on my favorite colors I pour quite a few of them for my tackle box. as far as hilight. Its just awsome. Love the stuff. One Sock
Ok so what applications do you use the highlight in? how much is too much etc etc, if you don't mind?
Gloomisman
it doesnt take much at all. maybe a match stick head size in 1/4 cup or so.
nova
You can use highlights with any color. You start with a small amount of highlight; maybe 1/16 tsp or less. You can always add more if you want to after you see the effect of the smaller amount. You have to be careful because if you add too much you will ruin the effect. Most of my recipies are 1/16 or 1//8 tsp for 4 oz plastic. Sometimes you may even want less; say using green highlight with black recipie. Always keep notes on what you do, as you do it. Don't try to remember what you've done after you've finished. The objective is to be able to re-produce the exact color everytime. I'm working on a perch recipie done using a core that has highlight in it. If it works out I'll post a pic in the gallery. www.novalures.com
