Pop
What is the best size treble hook for in line bass spinners? Thanks Pop
Shawn M
Hi Pop...it depends on how big of a spinner you are making. I've been playing around with some and I use a #2 treble hook and a #4 french blade. It probably weighs close to 3/8 oz or little less (I really do need to get a small scale). Most other spinners I make use a #6 hook, but they are smaller and catch about anything. Shawn
Pop
Thanks Shawn. I have some #4 French blades. I'll give them a try with #2 treble hook. Do you think the .031 wire is heavy enough for bass and pickerel? Thanks for your help. Pop
Shawn M
Pop, I think .031 would be fine, thats the size I use mostly. If your spinner gets bent it is easy to straighten out, but you shouldn't mess too many up with that size wire. After a few fish is could happen though.
