Tying Hair Body Flies?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to tying but I'm interested in tying some jigs and including a hair body, similar to what you would see on a hair popper or muddler minnow. I've looked for information on the internet and haven't found much of anything and don't have any sort of fly shop around so I'm having a hard time finding information. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out.

Thanks,

Norcalbassin

There doesn't seem to be much online in reference to tying jigs. I've resorted to hanging around the fly tying sites.

Try this link, hopefully it will help.

I once had a really good link to this stuff but I can't find it now. Do a google search for deer hair popper patterns or something like that. Here are a few links I just found. I didn't completely read them but they look like they may help you. Best advice I can give you is to practice on a hook several times before you try it on a fly that you've put time into. You don't want to screw up a good fly with inexperience.
