TheBaitPhotographer
I've been pouring for a few months now and simply put, I love it. I've found myself growing creepily fond of the buzzing neon shop lights that hang overhead as I prepare myself for the in-fisherman "how Brad Hardy re-invented the stick bait" article and sponsorship requests from Ike, KVD, and the rest of the gang sporting boats packed with "Lip Ripper Sticks".... Well, perhaps the last part is just wishful thinking. Anyway, I pour a lot of stick baits, and due to the weather here in PA, tomorrow will be the first day nice enough to have any shot at a smallie on a stick bait. Hence, I haven't really seen my stick baits in the water. I am however told by many hand pour-ers that a hand poured stick bait (if poured with the correct ratios of salt, softener) will out-perform a GY senko any day. I'd very much like to know why this is. Any help? Thanks
dampeoples
Because the people that hand pour sticks don't fish with the real thing
One Sock
SNIP> I am however told by many hand pour-ers that a hand poured stick bait (if poured with the correct ratios of salt, softener) will out-perform a GY senko any day. I'd very much like to know why this is. Any help? Thanks I can say for myself that the sticks I pour can outfish GY's because I can change the sticks depending on condition. If I want to drop shot them ..no salt, if I want to wacky rig them in deeper water with a faster fall rate. add more salt or even some mettalic flake. There is no limit to what you can come up with, with so many colors and flakes you can show the fish things they haven't seen before. adapting to your conditions is the key to consistent bass catching. too mnay times an angler sticks with a bait because it caught fish last time. then after hours of catching nothing, they blame the lack of fish activity for their skunky day. bass bite all the time period..if your not catching fish, your doing something wrong. it's just a matter of knowing what they want and how they want it. hunger and aggravation will always have fish biting, so if their not readily eating your baits, then annoy them until they do. I don't always catch fish when I go out, but I know better than to blame the fish one of my favorite things to do is make flukes that look like the local forage in the lakes, whenthe little ones go bobber fishing for pan fish and stuff, I always take a picture then see how close I can come with the custom flukes. I have had some spectacular results fishing afterwards
GB GONE
I know my sticks have more wiggle than the GY senkos. Not sure why else but I have had many of tournament anglers tell me they either outfished or were outfished 15:1, in the same boat, by hand poured stick vs injected sticks. "Because the people that hand pour sticks don't fish with the real thing :)" I see I need to take Sterling out and school him on some hand poured sticks! No matter how much you beg and CRY, no sticks for you when I am lipping out my 15th bass to your 1!!!! Jim
