livewell Posted April 25, 2007 Report Share Posted April 25, 2007 Never built a rod before but I have a 5 1/2 foot shimano ultralight that I would like to shorten from the handle end to 4 1/2 ft or so. Skeet Posted April 25, 2007 Report Share Posted April 25, 2007 At a minimum, by taking length from the butt end of the rod you will moderate the action on it.
