baj435
It may be the plastic. when this gallon is gone i will try a different plastic. they are still fishable and catch fish.(which what counts i quess) The squishing is me wanting to try and make the best bait i can not just get by if you no what i mean. Don't have to worry about anyone complaining exept me. Well and the wife, but nothing helps that.
BassnG3
I use Ozark plastic and Dels softener and have had no problems. Sounds like you have too much softener or maybe your plastic is not mixed enough. I use Ozark and do not have this problem. Scott
David Reid
Maybe it has been sitting and has separated out and by using some of it you have changed the composition so no matter how much you stir and mix it it can no longer go back to what it was originally and give you the composition you require. (like some materials settle and other rise to the top (flocculation ie. the light volatile material at the top and the dense material at the bottom). How old is the product? I would suggest you get some new stuff, try that, and see if you get the same problem. If not it should tend to show you where the problem is. Delw
I might be wrong then, I used dels hardner with M-F plastic and it did not work for me.Is dels hardner like jello or glue ? the 2 pints I got were. All the plastics, softeners and hardeners will mix together just fine. no matter whos brand you use. As far as the hardener we sell, I would more more than happy to sell it to you really thin( liquid) like the other brands, I would just have to Dilute it 15+:1 and you would get the same stuff . our hardener is concentrated thats why it is thick, we dont dilute it. Baj435. I really think your using way to much softener. the only other thing I can think of if your not is that you have a hollow center in your stick bait. does the tail end stay together the same just like the other end when you squeeze it? where are you squeezing it at top bottom middle? Cut the area you are squeezing and see if it has a hollow spot in it. ( use a razor blade)
Predator Bass Baits
I see Del, that is good to know, I thought maybe it was old ?
jmik26
Has anyone ever squeezed a GY senko? The GY senkos I got will dent when they are pinched. I took one and actually pinched it in half through the package . When I make sticks I only use 1/8 cup of Dels salt to 1 cup of LC plastic. Sticks come out perfect and last more then 1 fish and no denting. If you need more weight use a weighted hook...
james bradshaw
If you squeeze a Senko hard then it will flatten out or dent as well. It's the salt in the plastic as well as the softness. James
baj435
Thanks everyone for all the help. For the record this is what i found out with some trial and error and alot of help from you all. I will no longer use softner when i am pouring with ozark plastic. I have gone through a quart first and now i have a gallon. Both achive the same results. Del's salt is heaver than popcorn salt don't need as much volume, but the kind of salt used is strickly a personal prefrence. I have found that most of you were right in some form or fashion. I was using to much sofner. The salt makes everthing go slower including the cure time and the mold time. I think with a little less salt, no softner, longer mold times, and longer cure times i have the problem licked. Thanks again guy for all of you help on this.
