rockylinx
Hello, and thank you guys in advance I'm new to pouring, by new i mean- I've never done it before and want to jump in with both feet I have several questions I went through the search function and found a lot of info on molds but, i was confused if the info was for one piece or two piece molds my problem is that i need a 2 piece mold I want to start with a intermediate mold by choice so i can master a challenge I don't like plaster due to the brittle nature and the discoloration factor Ive heard mention of ,fiberglass resin, oomoo ,smooth-on even lexel are they for one piece or 2 piece molds ? what is the best material for 2 piece molds? I want them to last. second question is how to suspend the master copies (2 cavity) so they don't sink in the goop and only get buried in halfway I would buy Aluminum but its a custom job Thank You Pete
TheBaitPhotographer
Pete, its sounds like RTV is your best bet here. I know Del sells it, check it out... http://www.del-mart.com/shop/product.php?productid=16579&cat=335&page=
TheBaitPhotographer
Sorry pete, just re-read your thread and realized that you said 2 peice mold. I may be (probably am) wrong in saying that you cant do a 2 peice with RTV. Anyone able to clarify?
