Whiz Jig
I asked LC to send me some samples of the some 3 to 4 inch shad molds. They sent #539, #586, #774, #787. Comparing 586 and 787; 586 (
Delw
Whiz jig the swim action is going to mostly depend on your plastic, how soft or how hard it is. for example if I take one swimbait mold pour it in three different plastics hard med and soft they will all get different action. same with the buzzfrog molds. the bigger tail will have a longer swim action the smaller tail will wiggle lots faster INsert tube with treble hook I found to be the best as far as hook ups
Whiz Jig
Delw So the 774 mold will give me the longest swim action. If I want the most action then I need to use real soft plastic. Can you dip the head in hardener to get a better hook hold or do you have to use two different plastics?
Delw
the smaller tails give a very fast eratic action, the bigger longer tails give a more life like action. ( my opinion) you would have to pour 2 types of plastic. Personally I would run med plastic in the hole thing. if you use the plastic tube the lure should never fall off, those plastic tubes are great for swimbaits
Delw
I got a few pms asking what the tubing was and how it was applied, so figured I would clear that up. the tubing is like the picture below if you also look at the bait picture it has a tube that runs through the nose and down to were you hook on your swivel and or treble hook.. while you can't see it picture a tube running at the angle from the nose to the swivel. hope that clears some things up. this tubing is like a small flexible straw. that you insert then pour your plastic over it. I am sure most of you have seen them, they use them on the cheap and expensive RC cars and airplanes to hold the antenna wire. Delw
