the_hide
Gents I've made a couple of clay masters that have a T-tail like the charlie brewer sliders, I have created a few 2 part plaster molds with these masters. But because the tail section between the body and the tail end is so thin I'm finding it impossible to hand pour past the thin section to the tail. I've heated my plastic as hot as I can get it with plenty of stabilizer and softener. I've got plenty of sprue holes in all the right places and I'm preheating the molds. I'd be interested in what some of you fellows would do next ? I can only personally see three ways to get past this whats the opinion of you guys ? 1. Can I use a syringe to "inject" normal plastisol into the base of the mold or do I need special injection plastic ? 2. Should I make "tail only" molds and "Grub only molds" and use that soft plastic glue to join them together later ? Realistically does this glue join plastics together in a couple of seconds or is it a 30+ second set etc ? 3. Make my molds a two pour process pour the grub portion and whatever portion of the tail it pours , let it cool a little then turn it upside down and pour the tail through a different pour hole on the bottom. What would you do ?
