ghost
I am going to buy my measuring cup for pouring but thought of something first. How do you guys clean the cups?? I did a search with no results. Once the plastic dries does it peel right out? Would it be better to buy a few cups? Thanks
alsworms
The plastic should pull right out, but you'll need a few cups anyway. If you're getting the Lure Craft cups, it's a good idea to have several on hand. Over the years, I have accumulated hundreds of those things. doomdart
Not only will it peel right out, but you can wipe the glass with the mass of cooled plastic to clean the specks and drips from it. Other than that, I would only recommend wiping with a very clean cloth like cotton periodically (not between pours) but before a batch of pouring. Make sure no cloth fibers, etc. are left in the glass.
One Sock
I use pyrex cups and have about a dozen or so. If you plan on pouring a bunch of baits, then always keep a notebook for diiferent recipies you might stumble across, as far as cleaning them goes. I use canola oil spray. It does a great job removing glitter and cleans the cups nice. It also does not leave a sticky residue or add any unwanted scents to the baits. A little goes a long way JMO
ghost
I figured that if it was a chore or there was a trick to cleaning them I would of found a post on it. So I assumed it was pretty easy but wanted to make sure before I bought them. The thrift store down the street has a bunch of pyrex measuring cups for a quarter each. So I will buy a bunch of them today.
nova
Have a good look at them before you buy them. Make sure there are no chips in the glass. This can be enough to explode them. Happened to me and not a lot of fun. lol www.novalures.com
ghost
Well I was a little off on the price. Not a quarter more like a buck. But still got 5 of them. That should keep me in business for a while. Gonna get some pouring done next week while I am off from work. But first I have to transform the garage from a garage into my lure and plastic making studio. Now the only question is will the wife ever come around to my new hobby??? One Sock
[quote=ghost; Now the only question is will the wife ever come around to my new hobby??? Nope. Mine won't come within 30 feet from the garage when I'm pouring and she won't take things to the post office either because of the looks she gets standing in line witha bunch of very heavily scented packages
ghost
My wife is more upset about the amount of money I have spent on materials for making plastics, jigs, and spinners. She told me tonight that I spent over $300 in the month of April. I told her I will break that record this month......
