Metal Head
Ok so I have made my body of the swimbait out of clay, but now I'm mixed up on how to make the mold for the body. Im looking to make a 2 piece mold... What kind of material should I make the mold out of? I saw some silicone on Del-Mart and I think that will work. Does anybody have any tips or pics of how they make there molds? Thanks, Eric

ssrmr2
Eric, I just finished 3 molds out of plaster of paris. its very easy to work with. and is cheap so if you screw up you can start over. however one thing i would use differently would be the tupperware. I would use something that will not deform as much as the glad tupperwares. maybe its just my brand. also i sealed the POP with epoxy to get that glossy finish. THANKS TU. -steve
MDC
If you use silicone make sure you are not using regular clay. It will not allow the RTV to cure.
Metal Head
Thanks alot for the input guys. 152nd Street Baits, the videos were absolutely perfect and gave me a perfect idea of how to make my molds. ssmr2, I too have used plaster before for molds and yes it is cheap and does the job well, the molds can break and chip. I'm willing to toss in some more money for a legit mold that will last and hold the detail of my bait. Thanks again guys, Eric M Metal Head
