Flying Fish
I've poured a good version of Yamamoto #169, but the chartreuse in this bait looks a little more muted down....not as bright. Maybe it's just the picture on the GY website that makes it look like that? I've never seen that color in person so you'd be a better judge than I would. I'd start with chartreuse and primary green. That should get you close. I don't have my notebook in front of me so I can't give you the recipe I used to copy the chartreuse in their #169 color. Just take it slow and eyeball it along until you get close. I think a combination of those two colors will get you there. The GY website lists the three different glitter colors they use in that bait if you weren't sure about that.

Flying Fish
No worries. If you have trouble, let me know and I'll get the recipe I used to match the chartreuse in their #169 color. I think it's the same base color as their Firetiger. Mine is ever so slightly less green, but that can be fixed easily enough.

Senkosam
I came up with my own ft versions a few years ago: Spike-It dye and .090 deforming black flakes and that uses florescent orange and green flakes; Spike-It chunk paint for coach dog markings
larrybass
Holly Mackerel there Senkosam, Those lures are just beautiful! What a masterful job you've done there my friend. I'll put money on that bait over any and all others I've used or seen before. Sound a little uppity? Hey dude, I've lost track of how many fish I've caught on the Firetiger pattern since I started using it over a quarter of a century ago, when it first came out. You might say my confidence is high when tossin' that color around. :-) I KNOW that your slinky, slippery, slimy, seductive lookin' Senko knock-off will KILL! Thanks for posting! Senkosam
Thanks, I just wish picks didn't love them so much. They just have no appreciation of how much longer it take to do two pours! LOL Strange though, but after the spawn, bass seem to prefer more muted color in my waters (ie green pumpkin, roadkill, watermelon/red and black flake, chartreuse/ black flake, rootbeer/ black and green flake) and I put the ft sticks away until fall. wannabefishing
i think it's just the pic that dulls it down like that.... i sell ALOT of firetiger up here... 4oz plastic 1.5oz softener 1/4 cup salt salt 30 drops Dels chart 1/8 tsp med black flake 1/8tsp med kelly green flake 1/4 tsp med orange flake go easy on the green and black, they'll both reflect too much and can cause the colour to be either too black or too green... if you had a GY firetiger in your hands you'd see the flakes better and the colour is touch brighter... that's for colour #327 off Baits.com website
