psilvers
If I am using powder paint as a base coat, will vinyl paint adhere to the jig over the powder paint? For some jigs I am thinking of using powder and vinyl. I was also thinking of putting on a vinyl clear coat over some powder jigs with eyes. I do know some people use epoxy for a clear coat also, so that is another option when it comes to clear coat. How about clear coat and other colors - are they compatible with a powder paint base? What about lacquer paints? Thanks, Pete
smalljaw
The vinyl will adhere to the powder base coat but you'll have to cure the powder before painting over it. As far as using vinyl for a top coat for 3D eyes, I'd have to say it's not a good idea. Vinyl isn't hard, the reason it resist chipping and cracking is because it's pliable and will flex if the jig hits a rock or some other form of cover and gets a small "dent".
