ghost
Tried to make a web site using Microsoft Publisher with its premade templates. Well that didn't work out to good for me. So I just downloaded Zen Cart, filezilla, and notepad++ and gonna just do it the real way. Now as someone with ZERO experience building websites besides with templates should I give up this idea and run???? Or is it not so bad?? feldermannLures
Doing it yourself isnt bad. A quick google search on "HTML Tutorials" will help alot. HTML is pretty quick and easy to grasp. Zen Cart is pretty easy to get going also, you upload it to the site, run the installation page and its pretty much all done for you. You just have to go into the control panel and tweak things how you need. If you have any questions let me know, i'd be happy to help. ghost
Couldn't get Zen Cart to install. keeps saying that my php. is not writable. Tried OS Commerce and that said couldn't access my SQ database... I am just going to hire someone. Really can't afford it but I don't have much choice. I am not computer savy enough I guess

dampeoples
Ghost, what host are you using? Most hosts use something called Fantastico that will do the heavy lifting for you, all you have to do is go in and configure it. I'm using Dreamhost, and while they don't have Fantastico, they have their own version, it works. Make sure you know what you want before you purchase hosting.
