Dout? soft baits- hardner, softner... What's this???

Recommended Posts

Hi!

In my country, Materials for Making Plastic Worms do not sale in any store. It would like to know accurately that material is this. Which its chemical formula?

In the site Barlowstackle.com i read:

" Plastic Liquid is the primary material used to make soft plastic lures. The material as

supplied is a thin, white liquid. This liquid changes to a soft, clear, plastic

when heated (there are no catalysts to add, just heat). The properties of the plastic

may be changes by mixing in Softner or Hardner.

A wide variety of colors or color combinations may be achieved since the plastic

is clear and the user adds the color to the desired shade. All of the items offered

for use with the plastic have been specially formulated for this use

and are compatible with the plastic. "

What is a "plastisol resin"??

I don't know much, I'm new to this...but I think the material is Vinyl Plastisol. But an internet search gave me no good information for this material.

Look here for places on the internet in the US to order, but they don't say what the material is:

Z,

I doubt anybody would tell you exactly what it is. It's a trade secret. Otherwise, anybody could just buy what they need to make it themselves. According to the MSDS for Calhoun plastic it is PVC based. I think that's about all you're going to be able to find unless you can do the analytical chemistry to separate it and figure out what all is in it.

Thank's...

I do this question because is very dificult import some products in my country...

In some cases the goverment taxes is 100%... and the product becomes very expensive...

To run away from these taxes, we need to ask for for some friend living in U.S.A. to send us them as "Gift", and in this case the goverment don't charge the package.

My father was professor of analytical chemistry in a university, but he already died...

Good idea... I will go to look to some of he's friends or somebody of the polymer area...

Thank's and sorry my poor english
