Ryno Plastics
Hey Fellas, I've been reading article after article lately about the importance of scent in soft plastics. I guess that's what got me to thinkin'...which scents are the most effective, most attractive, most potent...etc? Figured I'd try to get an opinion from just about everyone. earthworm77
I think garlic is the stinkiest and I use it to scent my baits 99% of the time. I like the old Bang formula......it doesn't cook out.
alsworms
I tried putting a dot in every one, but it wouldn't let me.....I like 'em all Guess if I had to choose just one it would be Pro Cure's garlic, which is a garlic/craw mix. Anise is great too. Wait a minute.......shad is good for flukes and swimbaits......crawfish is always effective......Dang......good question Ryno!!! kidlizard
I like KNB craw on anything I am fishing to resemble a craw. I use garlic on stuff like worms, and shad on shad type of baits. I guess I go for the most natural scent for the bait I am useung, and since I havent heard of worm scent ill stick with garlic for worms. My favorite is still craw. Anybody got any worm scent????? john
Mercury
The garlic is a great cover scent, But for attracting fish we dont use garlic as bait. anise does have a "food" value in it, but I still believe that a baitfish "shad" or actual fish food "craw" is the best to get the fish to bite. But from a marketing standpoint I have to say that garlic is the most requested scent. But I say I make them all. You pick what you want and I will have it ready. Tubeman
Hears one for ya, I'm trying Mega Strike paste today and it melts in very well. As for its smell, its unique and I could not tell you if it resembles any of the current scents being commercially sold. We have our last tourny tommorrow and I'm crossing my fingers on this one.
