Can different brands be mixed?

Recommended Posts

Couple questions from a rookie here.

I have some plastic from Janns netcraft. I assume it's LC plastic?

My problem with it is it's too stiff when it dries, and tough to pour (too thick). It's their regular stuff, not the saltwater or the soft. But my swimbaits have no wiggly wiggly in the water.

1. Can I buy any brand softner from say, Del, and mix it with what I have, or do I need the same brand softner as my plastic?

2. Can I buy some softer plastic, say Del's, or even the super soft stuff, from M-F, and then mix the plastic I have into it?

3. Does softner make the hot plastic easier, thinner, to pour?

4. What plastic of the three major brands is the softer? I couldn't tell from the recent poll, it just left me confused.

Thanks all,

Willy

1, Yes

2, yes

3 yes

4 lurecraft 536(super soft) is the softest, any plastic can be soft or softer its just a matter of adding softener.

The Netcraft plastic isn't Lurecraft plastic, Kim told me that last year, but they won't tell her who's it is.

Not sure about Del's products, but LC sells anise scent, which is different from worm oil. Oil is used to slick molds and slick up baits in the bag, scent, is well, smelly.

On the worm oil, it will turn colors if left in the sun.

Our worm oil is not scented, we do have a few different types of scent asine is one of them.

Dp is 100% correct about worm oil turning colors, Worm oil doesnt have UV inhibators in it and will turn color as soon as it hits the sun so don't use a whole bunch in your packages.

we also found that after 3-5 weeks that even in the shop if left were sunlight is around( like when bay doors) are open it will turn color if left in a clear container.
