rockdog23
I went to Wally World and bought the standard rotisserie motor for my drying wheel. When I timed it the motor turns at 2 RPM (makes no noise at all). I am using devcon for my clearcoats, is this speed too slow?
rjbass
Because of the nature of devcon setting up fairly quick, I would think that 2RPMs is too slow. You would probably get sags. All of my drying motors turn at 6 and I use devcon exclusively. Try it and see what happens is the real way to test it. Rod
cullin8s
I think it would do fine, my motor is very similar in speed as long as the bait is moving for the first 15 minutes and not sitting with one end down i think you'll be fine. BobP
I think 2 rpm will do OK on unthinned Devcon Two Ton. But IMO it's too slow for thinner clearcoats like polyurethane or Etex Lite.
Lure--Prof
If it is the same motor I bought from wallyworld you'll have no problem with any of the clearcoats mentioned. Dean
rockdog23
Thanks for all of the input. The first batch on the new motor had some issues, looks like it was more of a user error issue.
Lure--Prof
Most "uneven" problems are caused by too much topcoat! Dean
