nova
Chris told me that when it became more work than fun he was going to take a break. He will look in on TU from time to time. He is also quite busy with his "real" business. I hope I'm not overstepping here Chris. www.novalures.com
redg8r
Chris told us (mods) he was taking a break from pouring but wanted to stay on as a moderator here at TU, so you should still be able to reach him here.
SwampBaits
I'm sure he'll give this thread a reply. Hopefully he continues to give all of us help and advice, I know his posts have always been helpful to me!
GB GONE
I talked (email) with Chris also. He'll be around!! As Nova said, when pouring impacts your family time and your real business, time to step back. Chris was the inspiration for me to start pouring years ago and he helped me more than he knows. I am sure he will never completely give pouring up as it is in his blood! As good as he was, no wonder he hardly had time to do anything else!!! jmik26
when pouring impacts your family time and your real business, time to step back. We know this all to well. Many of times I showed up to my real job on 3 hours of sleep because we wanted to finish an order. Its a constant battle to juggle family functions, fishing, and stuff that needs to get done between pouring baits . Anywho, I wish Al's worm the best hope to see him around still....Jeff
saint308
Right on. That is something everyone wants to experience. We all said at one point that we hope we have to worry about that much business. Then, when it happens you wonder how you are going to get out of it for a while. I wish him the best of luck. Now we can ask him questions on how to slow down. Saint.
alsworms
Wow fellas......thanks for all the kind words.........and this thread in general. It's very cool of all of you! You guys pretty much hit the nail on the head. Work, work, family, work, family, kids, family, and then more work finally takes it's toll. All this leads up to no fun. Never thought I'd see the day when I'd say it was no fun pouring worms. That time is finally here and no time better than the present to move on. I've really enjoyed sharing and gaining information on this site. You guys are all true professionals. I have watched many of you start out as novice pourers and become simply awesome at what you do. Jim, Nil, Swamp, Saint.....the list goes on and on. You guys are all artists in this field, and I wish all of you nothing but the best! On a lighter note, I'll still be checking in here from time to time. You're not getting rid of me that easy! Chris
Tubeman
Thanks for all your input Chris, I've learned a lot from you. Enjoy the time with your family, I understand how much time is devoted to pouring when you work a full time job as well.
earthworm77
Chris, absolutely was my inspiration to getting into custom pouring and he has been downright helpful when I had questions. I would call him a mentor. Perhaps the coolest thing about this business is the fact that although each of us may be trying to run a business, we are all usually very hospitable and helpful towards each other. It has been very nice having Chris make comments on some of my baits over the years. He may not even know just how much he has helped me and I'd guess many of us out. In my opinion as far as colors go Chris is THE best out there. On a hand poured level, he is the Robo Worm of hand pouring. And that is a huge compliment. I hope he eventually gets back into this on some level. On a related note, there are a ton of his molds on eBay is anyone is looking. basskat
I know most of you guys have rarely seen me post. I've been a member through several sever swaps and crashes over the past years. When I first started pouring plastics Al was there to guide me through all the screw-ups. All I can say is THANKS AL!
